Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Own and manage the full financial accounting function right up to balance sheet level
• Process and manage all foreign creditor accounts and foreign exchange transactions
• Prepare detailed monthly management accounts and financial reports for senior leadership
• Play a key role in building the group’s annual budget and long-term financial forecasts
• Monitor and control production costs, project costs, and capital investment spend
• Handle all VAT returns, VAT reconciliations, and annual and provisional income tax submissions
• Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls across the business
• Operate the company’s ERP system to ensure financial data integrity and reporting accuracy
• Oversee inventory control and identify cost variances before they become problems
• Support the broader finance team and contribute to high-level financial strategy decisions
Do You Qualify? Here Are the Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
• A completed BComm degree in Accounting or Finance — this is non-negotiable
Experience Required:
• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in a full financial function within a manufacturing or engineering company
• Proven track record managing foreign creditors and foreign exchange transactions
• Solid experience in production costing and inventory control
• Demonstrated ability to prepare VAT returns, VAT recons, and tax submissions
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in ERP systems — SAP, QMuzik, or Syspro experience is highly preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a must
Personal Attributes:
• Assertive, proactive, and highly organised
• Able to work independently and manage a full financial function with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working under pressure and consistently meeting tight deadlines
